Take to the ice at Deeside Leisure Centre in Queensferry. Pick a public skating session for a first visit, or look for an ice disco if you want music and lights. Check the timetable for the session you want before setting off.
Look for the golden spire on Vaughan Street, a short walk from Llandudno station. Inside MOSTYN you can explore contemporary art for free, browse the shop and stop for a coffee. The café opens earlier and closes before the galleries.

Start with the three galleries at Ruthin Craft Centre, then look around the makers’ studios by the courtyard. Entry and on-site parking are free. You can visit the galleries independently; workshops have their own bookings.
Follow a beam of light, try the hands-on exhibits and catch a live science show in central Wrexham. Allow two to three hours. If you are planning a weekday escape from the rain, check the public session before you travel.
